The role of left ventricle global longitudinal srain in prediction of chemotherapy — induced cardiotoxicity in breast cancer patients treated by low and moderate cumulative doses of anthracyclines

Objective. To evaluate the alterations of Global longitudinsl strain (GLS) and it’s value for prediction cardiotoxicity low to moderate cumulative doses anthracyclines. Methods. Forty-nine women 50 ± 10 years old with breast cancer, treated anthracyclines (cumulative dose 251 60 mg/m2) were enrolled in study. Echocardiography GLS measurement was performed at baseline, end anthracycline treatment, then every 3 months during 1 year. Cardiotoxicity defined as a decline left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) least % ≤ 53 %. Results.
